“Meg 2: The Trench” — Bottom Line

Mega turd.

I should not have been surprised at all that “Meg 2: The Trench” the sequel to 2018’s “The Meg” was a steaming pile of crap. But, I like to think that film makers have some pride in their work and want to provide an entertaining and engaging experience for their viewers. This turd of a film is a pure money grab where all of the actors including the lead Jason Statham phone in their performances. The acting is pure B movie stuff. Statham’s Jonas is back and teams up with global action star Jing Wu as Jiuming (I never heard of him) to lead a team of scientific researchers into the Marianas Trench where they encounter not just more megaladons but other prehistoric creatures as well as surprisingly, humans in a secret underwater base. Mayhem, chaos and stupidity’s ensue.
