“The Last Voyage of the Demeter”, directed by Andre Ovredal (and starring Corey Hawkins, Liam Cunningham and David Dastmalchian) is a severely underrated film that viscerally recounts the story from one part of Bram Stoker’s seminal novel of horror, “Dracula”. Said part is the voyage of the ship Demeter from Eastern Europe to London, England carrying, unbeknownst to the ship’s crew, the undead Dracula and his belongings.
Starting immediately upon the first night after departing port, the Son of the Dragon, as Dracula is also known, rises from his casket an emaciated, grey and weakened looking creature, to start feeding.
