Who am I?
I’m David McKenzie, a techno serf by day and an artist / writer by night, based in Canada. And I’m a big geek.
What is DMcK?
DMcK is my online mag that seeks to share unique views and perspectives on films, streaming/TV shows, comic books, science fiction and fantasy books, video games, action figures and other “geeky” stuff. I generally select films and shows that are socially and culturally relevant in today’s world. Or, sometimes I geek out about something and want to write about it.
As a free subscriber you will get:
A weekly Watchlist on Thursdays that provides the list of shows that I have been watching or plan on watching for that week along with a few thoughts on each show, and a video clip or trailer from that show.
A weekly Bottom Line review on Fridays of film or streaming/TV series.
Occasional Classic Clips posts once or twice a week in which I share a clip from a past film that I thoroughly enjoyed.
A preview of my Full Reviews once a month (sometimes more frequently) on Saturdays of films and streaming shows. In the future I also plan on providing Full Reviews of comic books, books and video games.
If you upgrade to become a paid subscriber, you will get access to all of the access of a free subscriber, plus:
Access to the DMcK Archives (posts are archived after two weeks).
Complete access to my Full Reviews.
Access to my Podcasts and interviews, which I plan on adding in the future after I reach a certain threshold of paid subscribers.
Access to any special projects that I write about — such as, in depth writing on topics in the film, streaming/TV, comic books and video game industries.
If you want in, it’s $5 CAD a month or $50 a year. That’s about the cost of one regular sized latte per month.
